The 2018 Liga MX Apertura has been thrilling and the best players have been noticed by their corresponding international sides.
For the current international break, a whopping 44 players from 17 of the 18 Liga MX sides accepted a call-up to their respective national teams.
Strangely enough, Pumas were the only side to see all of their players stay home.
In an effort to train young talent for the 2022 and 2026 World Cups, 17 of Mexico’s 25 players who were called up to face Argentina play domestically.
Cruz Azul’s Julio Dominguez replaced Santos Laguna’s Jesus Angulo for El Tri after the defender broke his hand in training.
