Long-time Toluca goalkeeper Alfredo Talavera has been linked to Chivas and Pumas and it appears those rumors are indeed true.
The 36-year-old confirmed that he would leave Toluca for a ‘big club’ and that the club has been approached for his services.
“That approach is a reality,” Talavera admitted. “The board are the ones that have not told me anything, but it is well known that they are looking for me to go.
“If big teams are looking for my services, I’d be delighted.
“I do have a lot of love for Chivas because I started there when I was 14. If Toluca believes the best thing would be for me to be sold or get settled elsewhere, I would be willing.
“But if they say no, in the end, I am happy for what’s next and the challenges ahead.
“I’m happy because other teams look at your work and are always thinking about the present and the future. “I do not know what might happen but I have to do my job.”
Talavera has been with Toluca since 2009 and has played 376 matches for Los Diablos Rojos, earning 111 clean sheets.
