The transfer market is never easy for Chivas since the club only signs Mexican players and must explore all possibilities to either sign the greatest national players or find hidden gems.
A year ago, the Rojiblancos had Aldo Rocha on their radar, who has been one of Monarcas’ most regular starters.
Rocha has been with Monarcas since 2017, plays as a defensive midfielder, and has completed every minute in the 2020 Clausura.
In an interview with ESPN, Rocha revealed that although Chivas made contact with him, they did not submit an offer.
“There was an approach about a year ago, if I remember correctly, it was under different circumstances.
“A deal never came about, but it was something motivating. Chivas know they are the team for Mexicans, with more followers… a winning team with lots of tradition.
“It was not for nothing, the reality is that I am working hard so that a new proposal can come soon.”
Despite playing as a defensive midfielder, Rocha has scored five of his 10 career Monarcas goals this season. His contract expires at the end of June.
