After a commanding victory over Botafogo, Corinthians sit with 27 points in the sixth position but according to head coach Fabio Carille Corinthians must “aim higher”.

“We have to always aim higher,” said the head coach. “Now we have to turn to the Copa Sul-Americana, and then keep on adding points to continue in that top block of the Campeonato Brasileiro.”

Just three points behind second place, and five behind league-leaders Santos, Carille continues to praise his team, especially after their commanding victory over Botafogo.

“It was a very consistent game, especially in the first half, finishing 14 times against Botafogo’s one,” added Carille. “We remained calm, I am very happy with the result and the performance. ”

After defeating Botafogo, Corinthians will return to the field on Thursday against Fluminense, for the first match of the quarterfinals of the Copa Sul-Americana.
