On Wednesday, América announced the acquisition of defensive midfielder Rubén González from Necaxa through their social media channels.

The 25-year-old is the first player announced by the Águilas for the upcoming 2019 Apertura following Oribe Peralta’s departure to rivals Chivas.

After departing from Zacatepec in January 2018, González immediately earned the starting role at Necaxa and appeared 54 times for the club, scoring two goals and providing five assists.

González came up through the Chivas youth academy and made his professional debut with the club in 2013.
