In a match marred by questionable officiating by referee Marco Ortiz, Chivas and Puebla played out to a 1-1 draw.
Though it took just two minutes for Ortiz to reverse a penalty decision on Alan Pulido, a foul by Alejandro Chumacero on âChofisâ LĂłpez forced him to point to the spot once again just six minutes later.
Oswaldo AlanĂs would step up and convert from 12 yards to give Chivas an early 1-0 lead.
Thatâs as strong as Chivas would look as Puebla would outshoot the visitors 21-4 on the night and found their equaliser just before the half-time whistle through Brayan Angulo.
Puebla dominated the entire second half and looked to have taken a 2-1 lead just after the hour-mark through Lucas Cavallini.
However, Ortiz turned to VAR and determined that Cavallini committed a red-card offence earlier in the play, though there didnât appear to be much contact.
In the 72nd minute, Chivas were reduced to 10 men themselves after VAR was used again when Miguel Ponce struck Chumacero in the face during a challenge at midfield.
Chivas are now on four points and will be back in action on Wednesday when they face Santos Laguna in Copa MX play.
