Tomás Boy continues to be on the hot seat as Chivas dropped their second-straight Liga MX contest on Sunday, falling 2-1 at home against Necaxa despite owning nearly 70 per cent of possession.

Maxi Salas and Felipe Gallegos gave Necaxa a two-goal first-half advantage that proved to be too much for Chivas to come back from.

Salas’ fantastic turn and hit into the top corner put the visitors up less than 11 minutes into the contest.

Gallegos did his best to top Salas’ effort with a golazo of his own – hitting a sweet volley from outside the box just before half-time to double Necaxa’s advantage.

Dieter Villalpando came off the bench to score his first goal of the season just five minutes after coming on at the hour-mark but it wasn’t enough as Chivas drop to 12th place in the Apertura table and remain on seven points.

Meanwhile, with the victory, Necaxa move up to fifth place in the table on 10 points.

Chivas will next face Cruz Azul at the Estadio Azteca on Saturday, 31 August.
