After a six-game winless streak, Club América is back on the right column by defeating rivals Chivas 4-1 at Estadio Azteca on Saturday night.

América took advantage of a declining Chivas side to add three crucial points to their record.

Despite the strong win, América has yet to hear on the state of Giovanni dos Santos, who left the game with a gruesome injury.

Chivas’ Antonio Briseño earned a straight red card for the injury that will likely sideline dos Santos for a while, yet there is no official word on the extent of his injury.

Playing with just 10 mean since the 37th minute, Chivas had ground to cover already being down 2-0 thanks to a quick brace by Francisco Córdova who scored in the 18th, and 45th-minute.

Alan Pulido got one back for Chivas in the 50th minute, and when it looked like Chivas would get their offense going, they were no match for the América attack.

After another hard foul, Chivas found themselves down to nine men after Alan Cervantes was shown the red in the 73rd-minute.

Emanuel Aguilera converted the penalty kick to the give the home team the 3-1 lead and it was Henry Martín who put the final touch on the game scoring in the 89th minute to give América the 4-1 win.
