🎥 Chivas fans rang out after the final whistle: 'Fuera Cardozo' | OneFootball

Supporters of Chivas de Guadalajara voiced their frustrations with the club after losing to their bitter rival on Saturday.

On Wednesday, Chivas were eliminated from Copa MX at the hands of Club América 2-0 at the Azteca Stadium. The Sacred Flock were hoping for a better outcome at the Akron Stadium in Jalisco but the Eagles ran out victors in the league contest, as well.

Saturday’s defeat pushed Chivas outside of the post-season qualification places in the Liga MX table.

All of that added up to too much for the fans in attendance, many of whom joined in with choruses of “Cardozo Out!”

Manager José Cardozo took over for Matías Almeyda in June 2018. The Paraguayan had Chivas playing well to start the Clausura but he is now under heavy scrutiny following back-to-back losses to América.

The consecutive losses would have been difficult enough for Guadalajara to swallow without adding the elimination from the cup, the downgrade out of the Liguilla zone, and the humiliation on the national stage on top.

While there may not be a ready replacement for Cardozo, and certainly not the pipe-dream of enticing Almeyda to return, fans are getting impatient.

If the club does nothing to shake things up, “Fuera Cardozo” will be more and more common around the Akron Stadium.
